We looked (twice) at the excellent pandemic efforts from the Golden State Warriors. They have used the no-fan and no-floor access reality this season to actually IMPROVE their dance show. If you missed these, check them out here:
- Warriors Video Treatment of Dance is Next Level – Warriors are redefining dance production….and it’s amazing.
- Glimpse of the Future in San Fran – Taking the court away for a year may end up being blessing, causing teams to create and reimagine dance production.
- Wolves Dancers getting good at Zoom (note: the video has been removed from this post) – Minnesota’s Dance Team innovates in and foreshadows the new norm.
- Sixer Fix – Sixers simple and effective work around for a Cam.
The Warriors and Wolves aren’t the only team finding creative ways to still showcase their dance teams with a virtual twist. The Charlotte Hornets have found a way to showcase their kids dance team talents on screen as well.
Here the team received submissions from their Junior Honey Bees and created a montage of dance clips to keep their team performing in a virtual setting. Reminiscent of how the Sixers crowd sourced family’s in Sixer Gear for a scoreboard slideshow “cam”.
Another effective twist on game entertainment from a team working under new restrictions, and making the best of it.
