America’s Best Chainsaw-Wielding Mascot

Is there better mascot tradition than a lumberjack revving up a chainsaw after goals?

One of the great traditions in sports from one of the great mascots.

After each Portland Timber’ goal the mascot (now Timber Joey) revs up the chainsaw and slices off a timber log.  These slices are often given out to the team’s community outreach program, which often gives them to fans as a keepsake.  Or for special goals like this one, they are given to the player.
