Panthers Mark their Virtual Territory with 5K

NHL team drives fundraising and social media with an online race.

Great initiative from the Florida Panthers who created a virtual fundraising run to raise money for the Florida Panthers Foundation’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

Runners tracked their efforts online, donated $10 and shared their success online. This raised money, spread the word and encouraged some responsible fitness activity by fans.

Former players like Shawn Thornton were active participants and helped drive the effort online as well.

Join The Florida Panthers Foundation for a ‘Territory Trot Virtual 5K’ presented by Baptist Health South Florida to help support relief efforts for those impacted by COVID-19.

The cost to participate in the ‘Territory Trot Virtual 5K’ is $10 with all proceeds going to the Florida Panthers Foundation’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

Participants can run the 5K around their homes, yards or neighborhoods between April 17-20, 2020. Participants download the Adidas Run Mobile Application at runtastic.com or any fitness tracking mobile app to track their run times and activity.

Fans are also encouraged to share videos of their run and screenshots of their times posted with #TerritoryTrot. FloridaPanthers.com and Florida Panthers social media channels will re-share these documentations of the virtual event.

Participants are asked to follow these safety guidelines:

  • Practice social distance while running.
  • Avoid using public water fountains, restrooms, and touching cross walk buttons.
  • Stay home if you are not feeling well.
