Pink the Rink Continues to Grow in SA

Pink the Rink is more than pink ice in San Antonio.

The Rampage connected their Pink the Rink Night to another fundraiser this year inviting fans to climb the stairs overlooking the pink ice a few days prior to the game. This exposes more fans to the evening and their efforts making the actual game take on even more meaning.

Climb Against Breast Cancer
January 28th, 2019 at 6:30pm

The San Antonio Rampage will host a FREE Climb Against Breast Cancer event to raise awareness for breast health and early detection. On Monday, January 28th from 6:30-9PM, Rampage fans, patients undergoing treatment, and cancer survivors will have the chance to climb hundreds of stairs at the AT&T Center overlooking the famous pink ice.

Doors to the event will open at 6:30 p.m., and free parking is available at the AT&T Center, located at 1 AT&T Center Parkway. Participants will start out on Balcony level at Section 230 and make their way through the halfway point at Section 218, where they will be cheered on by Rampage T-Bone, given water and a dasher to fill out on behalf of a person they #Pinkfor.

Fans attending the walkathon can enjoy a pink margarita, exclusively available at the event and during the Pink in the Rink game, and specialty food from La Gloria and Burgerteca. Fans of the Silver and Black will leave Monday’s event with complimentary pink shoe laces, while fans who finish half of or all stairs on Balcony level, will also receive an exclusive Pink in the Rink medal.

Upon reaching 130,000 steps, which represents only half of the people who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, the San Antonio Rampage and Silver & Black Give Back will be donating $5000 to WINGS in support of five families currently undergoing treatment. As the Rampage present the check to WINGS, the five families in attendance will be revealed and surprised with the funds to help them in their recovery.

Nearly 250,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and as such, we will celebrate breast cancer survivors and fighters during our annual Pink in the Rink game, presented by Methodist Healthcare System, on February 1st.

For the ninth consecutive year, the game will be played on pink ice and the Rampage will wear pink specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game to benefit Susan G. Komen.
