NHL Showcases Mascots

NHL leads the way with their use of mascot talent.

The NHL continues to set the bar for their mascot integration at their All-Star Weekend. The league does an excellent job using and showcasing their characters making them into marketable stars both for the league and bigger stars in their home markets.

Here you can see the mascots taking part in a mascot hockey game, letting them show some on the ice skills and comedy.  Their performances have become a staple of the weekend and something fans anticipate.

NEW YORK – The 2020 NHL Fan Fair™ at St. Louis Union Station will be the site of the sixth annual NHL Mascot Showdown™ as part of the 2020 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend, Jan. 23-26, in St. Louis, Mo. Fifteen Western Conference mascots, led by the reigning Stanley Cup® Champion St. Louis Blues’ own Louie™, will face fourteen Eastern Conference mascots, guided by ThunderBug™ from the Tampa Bay Lightning, in four days of friendly but fierce competition. The mascots will also appear during NHL All-Star red carpet arrivals outside Enterprise Center starting at 3:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Jan. 24.

The NHL Mascot Showdown™ is one of the most anticipated events at the 2020 NHL Fan Fair™, the official fan festival of the 2020 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend. Twenty-nine NHL Mascots™ (not every NHL team has its own mascot) will showcase their hockey skills and athletic prowess, offering family-friendly fun for fans of all ages. For the sixth straight year, NHL in-arena host Mike Todd will handle play-by-play duties for each event. Each competition will be preceded by a mascot parade, a warm up and stretching session led by one of the 29 mascots, a ceremonial puck drop and a group photo. Select young fans in attendance will be able to take part in the warm up and stretching session prior to each planned event.
