We put the band back together to talk about the Best of 2015 Awards. Scott Carter, Pat Walker, Ben Hill and Cudo talk about the best in game operations from 2015.
We discuss the controversial promotion in Atlanta that created millions in earned media, and looked at how the team turned it into the promotion of the year. We also talked about promotions in Fresno and Brooklyn that just missed earning the honors.
The we reviewed an in-game element that the NBA and college teams are starting to follow from the Washington Wizards, and paid tribute to a hilarious “Cam” idea from the San Antonio Spurs.
The foursome looked hard at the world of mascots, including our winner from Houston and some notable mascots including the Trash Monster in Portland Maine and Aubie from Auburn University. The conversation then turned to halftime acts and unfortunate, yet hilarious, dog-related accidents on the court.
The conversation on team introduction looked at teams who were able to stay on brand and present well executed and creative presentation, including the New York Rangers and the winning teams in Montreal and Detroit. Then two teams were honored as te Best in 2015, along with some notable teams to watch like the LA Clippers and Seattle Mariners.
