Fun skit from Slugger from the SeaDogs who had some matador fun on their Copa Nights
The Portland Sea Dogs transformed into the Alces de Maine as part of Minor League Baseball’s Copa De La Diversión initiative.
Copa de la Diversión or “Fun Cup,” is designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams’ local U.S. Hispanic/Latino communities. The Sea Dogs transformed its on-field brand to a culturally-relevant Hispanic persona, representing an extension of the team’s and community’s identity. The team wears specially designed Alces uniforms and celebrates the culture of Latinx communities with music, food, and pregame dance performances. The antlers of the Alces- a direct translation of the Moose, Maine’s majestic state animal, represents Portland’s multi-cultural population.
Slugger played the role of a matador in this short skit and inserted an inflatable T-Rex….which is comically speaking, never a bad thing.
