You can imprint your team logo, sponsor, theme or message to these 9 inch flying disks and have your mascot, dancers, or interactive staff toss them to your fans during the time out.....rewarding your fans for making noise.
Several teams have added a coupon or cash element to the flyer giveaway by simply taping cash or coupons to the bottom of the disks. The Sacramento Kings owners (the Maloofs) have even been known to tape $100 under a disk or two....making the flyers a very popular item (even if just by folklore of big money).
Update December 2006: Rockford IceHogs
The IceHogs toss flyers featuring a sponsor's logo and the IceHogs logo into the crowd during the intermissions. Usually tossing around 10-12 flyers per intermission (20-24 per game). Attached at the bottom of each flyer is a coupon from the sponsor for each fan that catches a flyer. One flyer contains a coupon of greater value and this allows the sponsor to track their return on investment. They also accompany the promotion with a public address announcement for the sponsor when the flyers are tossed into the stands. This is a great promotion for a restaurant or bar. Flyers range in price, but even small orders are less than $1 per imprinted disk. Flying disks are easy to store, sponsor and execute making this promotion a popular one.
Update 2009: Indemnified Toss
Here is another option for the flyer toss, with a target and a large insured prize. Much like Chuck-a-Puck this can be done as a revenue driver.
