Mark Out Productions,
Inc. is a sports and entertainment company founded
by Jon Cudo in 1998. Mark Out Productions Inc.
is the owner and operator of Gameops.com. The
Gameops.com site serves both as goodwill, a way of
giving back to an industry that has been such a big
part of my life, and as a connection point for certain
aspects of our business. You can read more about
who's behind the site and Mark Out Productions on
our Contact
Us page.
Some people ask what's
the deal with all the Wave "controversy" on
the site and on the Message Boards. I wish
I had a quick and easy explanation for this. To
be honest, I don't hold a great deal of interest
in who created the Wave, but somehow we've gotten
sucked into the debate. Here's the quick version:
One of our services
include the development of web sites for other
clients and subletting of our web space. One
client is SRO Events, who is the agency that
handles Krazy George. Mark Out Productions
created SRO's and Krazy's web site and we host
the site (thus when you visit the URL reads www.gameops.com/sro/krazy). Part
of Krazy George's long standing claim is that
he created the wave, and that claim is on his
web site.
At some point some fans (presumably from
the University of Washington) started
a rousing debate on the Gameops.com Message
Boards. The debate also included demands that Gameops.com "remove" George's
site from Gameops.com. I tried, in vain, to explain
the SRO sub-hosting relationship and suggested that if these
fans had issue with the claim they take it up with SRO and
Krazy George.
And take it up they did.
As the debate raged
on, I enlisted a local reporter to help investigate
the claims of the UW and Krazy. Our story was
posted on Gameops.com about 3 weeks later. While
we stand by what our research found, we also
don't hold any vested interest in the issue and
we consider the issue to be closed.
On occasion the controversy reappears
on our boards, usually it is the work
on one poster trying to stir things up. Because
this site has no interest in debating the issue we have now
effectively banned the debate on the Message Boards in an
effort to keep the limited space on the message boards open
for visitors to ask questions and discuss more constructive
topics.
I have a non-commercial
site in the industry, can I get linked with Gameops.com?
Yes. We recognize
that there are other sites out there that are non-commercial
and would be of interest to our readers. Please
visit our links page for
more information on adding your link to Gameops.com.
How do I get a Convention
listed on the Convention Page?
We list any convention
related to the industry as a free service to our
readers, please visit the Convention
page for more details. We prefer to list
generic information on conventions and a web link
to the official site of the conventions, in lieu
of listing yearly dates.
We host a free Job
Posting Board as a service to our readers. We
encourage any team, event producer or other related
industry group to list jobs on our site.
In early 2003 we updated our jobs board with a co-branded solution
with WorkinSports.com.
The new board allow you to see more udpated jobs from around
the country and it also provided fresh and updated content.
Posting jobs is still easy and free.
Each month we add more
news, ideas and content to Gameops.com in an effort
to increase it's value as a resource tool. Normally
that content includes an interview with an industry
leader, a new Promotion Spotlight and a new Premium
Spotlight, among other things.
Our free Monthly Email Update is a once-a-month
email that will let you know that our update
has been posted and give you a summary of
the new things you will find on Gameops.com.
Joining our mailing list is easy, click here
and submit your name. Removing yourself from the list is just as easy,

Why does
it say "Gameops.com" on some of the photos
on the site?
We edit
nearly every photo you see on this site to optimize
its size and enhance how our website looks and loads.
Adding a watermark to some of the photos discourages
people from taking the photos we are investing time
optimizing for use on other sites. Using photos and
images from the web is a widely used practice (which
we also do). This is just one way to protect some
of the time and effort we have invested in the site
from people who may wish to borrow those images.
