What's the deal with all the Wave stuff?
- Some people ask, what's
the deal with all the Wave "controversy" on
the site and on the Message Boards. I wish
I had a quick and easy explanation for this. To
be honest, I don't hold a great deal of interest
in who created the Wave, but somehow we've gotten
sucked into the debate. Here's the quick version:
One of our services include the development of web sites for other clients and subletting of our web space. One client is SRO Events, who is the agency that handles Krazy George. Mark Out Productions created SRO's and Krazy George's web site and we host the site (thus when you visit the URL that reads www.gameops.com/sro/krazy). Part of Krazy George's long standing claim is that he created the wave, and that claim is on his web site.
At some point, some fans (presumably from the University of Washington) started a rousing debate on the Gameops.com Message Boards. The debate also included demands that Gameops.com "remove" George's site from Gameops.com. I tried, in vain, to explain the SRO sub-hosting relationship and suggested that if these fans had issues with the claim they take it up with SRO and Krazy George.
And take it up they did.As the debate raged on, I enlisted a local reporter to help investigate the claims of the UW and Krazy George. Our story was posted on Gameops.com about 3 weeks later. While we stand by what our research found, we also don't hold any vested interest in the issue and we consider the issue to be closed.
On occasion the controversy reappears on our boards, usually it is the work of one poster trying to stir things up. Because this site has no interest in debating the issue, we have now effectively banned the debate on the Message Boards in an effort to keep the limited space on the message boards open for visitors to ask questions and discuss more constructive topics.

How does your job board work?
In early 2003 we updated our jobs board with a co-branded solution with WorkinSports.com. The new board allows you to see more udpated jobs from around the country and it also provides fresh and updated content. Posting jobs is still easy and free.
