What is a Rally Towel?
A Rally Towel is a hand held towel that has become very popular in the sporting
world. It is printed with logos from the team and its sponsors and sold or given
away to fans. They are usually waved in the air during exciting parts of the
event. The Rally Towel accomplishes two purposes of a giveaway. It gets the
crowd involved in the game while also providing them with a keepsake, which is
often imprinted with a sponsor logo or logos along with your team logo or
design.
How long does it take to get a custom order of rally towels?
Standard production time is approximately 2-3 weeks (depending on order size). Production times start with approved art and payment, so be sure to factor the
art process (which can take a day or more) into your time lines.

There is no maximum, we'll make as many as you can handle.
What discounts do I get on larger orders?
There are price breaks at 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500, and 5,000 pieces.
Orders that are larger than 5,000 will be quoted upon request with
subsequent discounts.
What is the difference between the Economy Towel and the Gameops.com Rally Towel? How do I know which is best for me?
The Economy
Towel is less expensive and looks and feels less luxurious. It is made
of All Loop Terry, which makes it feel rougher. It can be compared to a
wash cloth. It is a great choice for teams/schools that are on a tight
budget and just looking to get something in people’s hands, regardless
of style.
The
Gameops.com Rally Towel is our recommended rally towel option.
Through our research we have found this towel to be the best towel
available. The front is made of soft velour, providing a smooth texture
to the towel and making it ideal for printing. It is not much more
expensive than the Economy Towel, making it the preferred purchase by
the majority of our customers. Because it is a bigger, nicer, and all
around better towel, the Gameops.com Rally Towel is the best option and
best value. It is a great choice for teams/schools that are interested
in providing people with a souvenir, not just a towel.
Do you have colored towels?
We do have access to actual colored towels; however we do not recommend
this option. Because of the dying process that colored towels go
through, they become very expensive. Our colored towel option is what
we call the Over-The-Edge™ towel. This is a process that actually
prints on the entire surface of the towel. This is done in such a way
as to give the impression and impact of a colored towel.
How does Over-The-Edge™ printing work?
Over-The-Edge™ printing is a process that allows us to print on the
entire surface of the towel. This gives the effect of a colored towel.
Your design can be included in any combination of colors. Softeners are
added to the ink to keep the texture of the towel. Over-The-Edge™
printing can be done on 1 side or both sides of the towel. We recommend Over-The-Edge™ printing on only one side, leaving the back of the towel
white and also providing a softer towel. When both sides are printed
with Over-The-Edge™ printing, the towel stiffens up slightly.
Can I get a Glow-In-The-Dark Towel?
Yes. We have glow-in-the-dark ink that can be printed. The ink that we
use is a very light color. We recommend using it for large areas on the
towel. The towels must be “charged” for 3-4 hours prior to glowing.
HINT: If you have a large quantity of towels and don’t know how to
charge them, consider laying them on the seats prior to the event,
rather than handing them out at the door.
What colors do you have available?
The Gameops.com recommended towel only comes in white. The
Over-The-Edge™ rally towel can be matched to any PMS color that you
would like. If you choose to purchase previously dyed towels, then
basic colors are available.
Can I Over-The-Edge™ any towel that I would like?
No. The only towel that is available for Over-The-Edge™ is the
Gameops.com Recommended Rally Towel. This towel’s makeup allows it to
adhere to the Over-The-Edge™ printing process best, thus providing the
best Over-The-Edge™ towel available. The Economic Rally Towel does not
have the quality of material that is desired for Over-The-Edge™
printing.
What is the difference between the Gameops.com Rally Towel and the Economy version?
The Economy towel is a smaller towel, at 11” x 18”, while the
Gameops.com towel is larger at 15” x 18”. The Economy towel is a loop
terry towel, providing a much rougher and “cheaper” look to the towel.
The Gameops.com towel is a velour/terry towel, with one side being
completely velour. Velour is softer and more smooth than loop terry,
providing for a nicer, more “elegant” looking towel. These combinations
result in the final difference, cost. The Economy towel is obviously a
little cheaper than the Gameops.com towel. Despite the slight cost
differential, we believe that the Gameops.com towel is the best deal.
The quality is much better and the price is only slightly more. That is

Can I get a towel that is actually dyed, as opposed to printed a certain color?
Yes, we can definitely accommodate this order. We recommend the
Over-The-Edge™ option for a few reasons. It is a much more cost
effective way to achieve a color towel. The process allows us to match
specific PMS colors that could not be done with dye. Over-The-Edge™
printing gives us more design freedom, allowing us to produce a more
creative towel that will stand out to fans/customers. However, this is
only our recommendation, the customer is always right, and if you
desire a dyed towel, then we can without a doubt deliver a dyed towel.
Can I get samples?
Yes, we have random samples available for each version of Rally Towel.
We can even obtain samples of certain dyed towels as well. If time
permits, we prefer to get samples in your hands before you choose a
towel. We believe that getting your hands on the different styles of
towels is the best way to determine which towel best fits your needs.
We can send samples at any stage of the purchase process, whether you
have committed to buy the towels or are just interested in the idea,
just ask and we can provide you with samples.
What if I need the towels quicker than the posted production time?
Yes. We do have rush services that can handle quicker production times
than the 2-3 weeks that is listed. Rush orders are handled on a case by
case basis, depending on the factories schedule and time available.
There are usually rush charges applied to orders, depending on shipping
requirements and factory output.
Can I print on both sides of the towel?
Yes you can. There are additional charges for a 2nd side imprint. The
Gameops.com rally towel and the Over-The-Edge™ rally towel have
different textures on the back side, loop terry, as the front side,
velour. With Over-The-Edge™ towels, we recommend Over-The-Edge™
printing only the front. Towels printed on both sides tend to feel
stiff from the excess ink.
What is the minimum number of towels that I can order at one time?
The Gameops.com rally towel and the Economy rally towel have minimums
of 100 towels. The Over-The-Edge™ towel has a minimum of 500 towels.
These minimums apply to each design, not the total order. We could not
print 100 towels with 100 different designs.
Can I get the towels embroidered?
Yes.
Embroidery costs depend heavily on the stitch count and are quoted on a
case by case basis depending on the size and detail of the design.
Typically costs are significantly higher and timelines are longer. This
is an unusual order for giveaway rally towels, since the price is
higher and timelines tend to be longer.
Will rally towels work for my school/team?
Rally towels
have quickly become the most popular promotional item in all of sports.
We have sold rally towels to teams/schools all over the country. Our
rally towel clients range from high schools to professional teams, from
basketball to swimming. Odds are that rally towels are a great idea for
your school or team.
In
the last couple years (2005-2006) we have seen an uptick in towels
across sports, which we believe have been caused by two towel
advantages over noisemakers: some fan feedback suggests that a
percentage of fans are annoyed by loud thunderstick and Bam Bam
noisemakers and towels have proven to have a higher perceived value from fans as
collectibles.
Are there any extra costs not included with your quote?
No. Our quotes include all costs, unless stated otherwise. This
includes the towel, imprint, set-up, and shipping. Depending on the
shipping destination, shipping costs may not be able to be determined
until final billing.
What is a "set-up" for a rally towel?
Set ups are
required for each different color that is to be imprinted. Your design
is broken up into its individual colors and a screen is custom-made
for each color. The imprint is applied to the towel one color at a
time. This is why towels with more colors on the imprint are more
expensive than a one color imprinted towel.
Can I put a different imprint on some towels?
No. Each
different imprint is considered a different order. This is due to the
costs of creating and changing the imprint screen during the process
(which is costly).
Do you offer any other towel options?
There are many rally towel options, but we chose three that we believe will meet your needs. The economy towels is good for limited budgets. The Gameops.com Towel
is the best rally towel we have found (so good we put our name on it);
100% cotton with hemmed edges, this velour towel prints extremely well
and feels great. Our edge-to-edge total print process transforms the
towel to any color without the high cost or large minimums associated
with a dyed-color towel.

Legend has it that loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fans brought towels containing "magical powers" to games as early as 1974. In 1978 during their playoff run, a merchandising manager named Bernie Pollak decided to produce the towels. While the crowd routinely waved their "magic" towels, the players were not seen using them until January 7th of 1979 when Lynn Swann emerged from the introduction tunnel waving one of the now mythical towels.
